RATIONALE:
Before I start my explanation of these sketches, here's a brief summary of the movie. Essentially, it's about a haunted mansion, and a team of paranormal investigators goes there to investigate.
In this sketch, I kept the elements of the old poster, but I changed the shooting perspective, as suggested by Mr. Martin. This perspective allows us to capture the terrifying expressions of the possessed man.
In this sketch, I used a fisheye lens to represent the camera in the film. In the original poster, Valen used a camera recording border to represent the filming done by the paranormal investigators.
For the title

Sketch 1: Placing it at the bottom so it won't distract from the main character
Sketch 2: My idea is to use spray paint to give it a warning vibe
For the art style, I will draw in a more realistic style, perhaps adding a bit of surrealism and exaggerating the expressions to enhance the spookiness.
Besides that, I'm thinking of adding a grain/noise filter to the composition to make it look like it's from a camera/CCTV

Color Palette:
1. Background: It will be dark, and I am thinking about using brown or dark red.
2. The Man: I will create a light source that directly shines on the man's face. I’m thinking of using yellow.
*I will experiment more with the colors. My goal is to tone down the background and make the man stand out more.
DESIGN PRINCIPLES:
BOTH:
Contrast & Emphasis: By using color, light, and shadow, I will make the man the focal point.
Proportion: Compared to the other elements, the man is the largest due to the fisheye effect.
SKETCH 2:
Word & Image: Using the eyes to complete the word 'look'
FINAL CHOSEN SKETCH:
3. WORKING PROGRESS
Basically I just trace from my sketch
After tracing a filling up the block, I put on a brown overlay and draw some brief lighting details on the staircase and boxes.
FOR THE MAN:

| The angle that I am looking for |
It's quite hard to find a specific angle of reference, so I use this website "Sketchfab" to find a 3D model as my reference. Besides that, from my original sketch is just a brief sketch, so I am finding a more 'realistic people' rather than 'cartoon/anime' reference.

RATIONALE:
1. The decisions made in my design:
In this work, I keep the elements of the old poster (basically, same as the original poster), and change the shooting perspective, as suggested by Mr. Martin. First, let's talk about the composition instead of putting the man in the middle, I position him in the slightly to the right of the center, and to make it balance a part of the staircase appear in the light area. To emphasize the man, I use an overlay layer to darken the background and add light to help the audience focus on him. About the color, to create a harmonious look, I use a warm (brown, red and yellow) color scheme for this work. For the art style, I choose to draw in a more realistic way, since it is a live action movie and I believe it will enhance the spookiness.
Unity & Harmony: Using similar tone/color palette to create this work
Contrast & Emphasis: Using color, light and shadow to make the main object stand out
Proportion: Compared to other elements, the man appears the largest because he is closer to the camera.
5. FEEDBACK
WEEK 6:
WEEK 7:
Mr Martin suggest I can try adding dark shadow at the back to add more horror mansion vibe.
