6. Contrast of color
7. Contrast of direction
FORM: Really IMPORTANT, it creates the most visual impact it attract audience eyes
Organization:
Gestalt Theory: Emphasizes that the whole of anything is greater than it's part
*In design we must look at the whole so you can analyze, how do these elements relate, how they flow etc.

#1st Ideation
According to my map, I decided to use my personality as my main elements:

#2nd Ideation
According to my map, I decided to use "Youngest Girl" as my main element:
According to my map, I decided to use my personality as my main elements:
Reassuring:
My friends often say it's easy to open their hearts to me and that they feel comfortable sharing their worries with me.
In Chinese we will say 敞開心门 as "open their hearts".
敞開: Open
心: Heart
门: Door
So I decided to put in a door elements in my word play.
Ideation
My name flows smoothly out of the door
Explanation:
Door: I will always build a door for you, so you can let your worries out comfortably.
Flows smoothly out: Let your worries flow out smoothly.
*To make the words feel smoother, I chose a curvier and bolder typeface to represent the idea of smooth.

At first, I tried to make the ends of the strokes fully rounded, but it looked a bit chaotic to me. So, I changed them to a more rounded-square shape instead.
I also adjusted the flow between the letters "u" and "n" to make the transition smoother and better connected.

I am having a dilemma of having a stoke as the door knob or a circle, but in the end I choose the circle version.
According to Mr Vinod's suggestion, I have made some adjustments to the letter "A" so it won't pop out that much. I adjusted the stroke so the weight is more even and adjusted the size of the "n" to make it more balanced and even with the "x."

4.1 Collateral Making
#1 Beanie
I’m using the 'door' in my wordmark as a signature icon for my brand, so I’ve added it to the bottom right of the beanie. It gives the beanie a simple yet stylish touch.
For the color, I chose a more iconic contrasting combination: yellow & blue.

#2 Phone Case
For the phone cases, I was thinking of making two designs: one with a more complex pattern, and the other with a simple illustrated image.![]() |

I use the door to create a repetitive pattern, and to make it more playful, I apply colors from my color palette to some of the doors, intentionally keeping the arrangement uneven.
My idea is based on the concept "I will always build a door for you, so you can let your worries out comfortably." I want to continue using this concept, so I imagined a scenario where the door I build would be the easiest for you to notice which is a door illuminated by the softest & warmest light.
#3 Badge
For the badge, I used one of the designs from the phone case for one of the badges, while the other one features the word mark.

General Feedback:
Two ways: Commercially or A personal mark
Commercially:
1. Create a brand for professional use
2. Communicate with the audience
*Eg: Combine with food, they will think about food. It will be work in restaurant/food industry
Personal Mark:
1. Whatever you want, idgaf vibe
-The best word mark will look new, it’s timeless, whether it’s been 10 years 20 years etc
-An intellectual explanation is essential when presenting work to client.
Do more research for word mark, instead of individual word. To know more about the balance etc
-A way to check the balance: Put a box around the design, analyze the white and black area
-Create it before making rationale it’s a way
Specific Feedback:
-No negative word for your brand
-Methodical thinking when using a element
*For example flower: It can be a company that is flowering a business
-Jump of more, don’t be too basic. Can look in more
General Feedback:
-Weight: Remember to adjust the weight
Specific Feedback:
-The A part is too thick need some adjustment and it pop out too much make some adjustment to make it balance
-The x & n can be the same size so it’s more balance, and reduce the pop of the A
General Feedback:
Applying 90/10 method to branding: 90- Focus, 10- Experiment
Specific Feedback:
Looks good.
General feedback:
The color when you use for the element pattern same with your word mark it might be a distraction
For task 3:
-Search before doing it, some of the font already has a lot of creation (eg: Lego)
-Unicase letterform (Just uppercase no lowercase)
Specific feedback:
-For the portrait, the background is a bit too much going on
As for the animation part, I’m honestly not that good at using After Effects, it’s pretty complicated for me. But through this task, I managed to learn new techniques and apply them to my animation, and I’m quite satisfied with the result. It’s not a fancy, complex, or professional-level animation, but I did my best!!
Creating the collateral was really fun! I’ve never tried designing my own merch before, so it was exciting to get the opportunity. (I love the beanie, simple but stylish!)

-Every element and idea you use should have meaning and a specific purpose. Think and explore further before creating the pentagram, as it can help convey the message more effectively.
