DESCRIPTION:

I believe every kid will wish to grow up faster at least once in their life. Now, I have fulfilled my childhood wish and created this poster.

Looking back at my younger self, I realize I have built my own staircase to reach my nineteen years. I am still sketching my staircase, and I believe the unknown behind the "Adulting" door will be bright and warm.

*A fun fact about the audio: Coincidentally, the track I chose is from the movie ‘Up’. The movie’s title unexpectedly relates to the theme of my poster.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
This poster is about "adulting" and "growing up."

*Inspired by my childhood wish, I believe every kid dreams of growing up faster. Now, at the age I once longed to be, and in order to commemorate the achievement of my childhood dream, I created this poster.

The message that I want to bring out is we use the things we learn to pave the path toward achieving our dreams.

We use the things we learn and achieve to build the staircase. Don’t rush; make sure the staircase is strong enough. Growing up is a long journey—enjoy it and live life to the fullest. Use everything you can to build your own staircase.

Here a some description for my elements that I use in this poster:

My sketch/drawing, art supplies and books:

Growing up, drawing and reading books were my companions. Art and books have helped me become a better version of myself.

A hand that is drawing and the sketched staircase:

The future is unpredictable, and I have no idea what my staircase is supposed to look like. However, we can always make plans and set goals, which help sketch out our future.

A door with ‘SMALL ME’ on it:

In the poster, I am looking at this door, symbolizing that I will always look back at my younger self. It serves as a reminder to never forget my dreams.

‘A’ Door with light:

Adulting is a process, and I believe it will help me become a better version of myself. Behind that door, my future will be bright and warm.

3. SELF REFLECTION
This project involves creating a poster that incorporates elements about myself. It's fun, and it gives me an opportunity to reflect on my life.

In addition to using Photoshop, we also get to use After Effects for this project. Although we had an exercise on After Effects, I still struggled a bit with it.
*Speed:
To synchronize with the music, I adjusted the speed and pace of the animation.
(For example, the music is bubbly and light, but the animation was initially too slow.)
*Movement:
To avoid elements colliding, I made sure the animation didn't become chaotic.

Throughout this project, I've become more familiar with After Effects, and after several exercises in Photoshop, I'm getting more comfortable with it. Thanks to Mr. Fauzi, who provided numerous case studies and tutorial videos, I found these resources very helpful during the process.
