FLIP CLASS:
WHAT IS MILLER'S LAW:
In this task, we are required to form a group and finish a simple presentation slides that is about Miller's Law.
WHAT IS MANUEL LIMA'S 9 DIRECTIVE MANIFESTO:
In this task, we are required to form a group and finish a simple presentation slides that is about Manuel Lima's 9 Directive Manifesto.
For this task we are required to make an animated lyrics video with our group.
PROGRESS:
First, we decided the song, overall aesthetic (Including font, color & art style), split the lyrics and make the story board.

I am assigned for the chorus part 2 and this is my story board
(it's not fixed, it will develop as I start towrk in After
Effect)
After all of us finish our story board, we have a meeting to discuss and fix our overall aesthetic.
FONT:
Simple bold font (Our color will be diverse as LOL's characters have more vibrant and contrast)
ARTSTYLE:
Simple silhouette with additional art lines (Fancy artwork is hard to allign as everyone has their own style and it will make the whole scene too messy) .
COLOR:
Following character's color pallette.
After all of the preparation & planning, we start to our part individually. Below is my attempt:
After finishing our own part, me (Jia Xuan), Emily & Dhina is in charge of connecting others part with transition. We divide it into three parts and I will connect all of the footage (that has transition).

For this task we are required to make a chart based on the data that is given by sir.
I am assigned to do a Donut Chart
PROGRESS:
First, I watch the slides & tutorial that is given by sir. After that, I decide the color scheme of my chart (which is blue!).

For this task we are required to make a vector animation in After Effect. Based on the tutorial that sir gave us, I am going to use the basic tools (such as position, rotation etc) & the puppet tools.
I am assigned to do the A Vector Art.
PROGRESS:
First, I watch the slides & tutorial that is given by sir. After that, I decide what to animate in the vector art. In the art work, it has car so I decided to make the car move and animate the trees and bushes (When car pass by, it will be windy). Plus, there are two people, I decided to animate their movement as well. The girl will be waving with the board and the guy is waving to get a cab.

Tempo is good (From fast to slow)
INTRO:
1. Don’t leave a bit of margin either FULL or make it lower center ish
2. Different color for different line
PRECHORUS: "on the go" can still going instead of disappearing
RAP:
1. The vanish part should be totally vanish
2. Weight is a bit hard to read (stay for a bit and fade)
3. "Exhibition" typo
4. The screen full of H needs to be readable
5. Fit can be different color, font size etc
In project 2, we focus more on doing animation in after effect. In my opinion, after effect is a complicated software, so I struggle a bit when doing the kinetic typography, luckily I find it interesting when doing it. Making the words move, making transition, illustration is kinda fun! Of course, my teammates did a really great jobs (Thank you guys TT) and I really like our outcome.
For the chart & vector art animation, there are tutorial by sir, so it's slightly easier than kinetic typography. I enjoy both of it, as I already have some experience when doing the kinetic typography. Overall, I struggle a bit but I am satisfied with the outcome and I enjoy the progress of learning more technique in after effect.
Rename the files before animating is a very useful tip. It will make the progress faster (Forgetting which layers are you working is very common) and more efficient.
Using the same font, color scheme and vibe will be easier to connect different videos (experienced it in kinetic typography, because all of us is assigned to do different parts). Moreover, we have to put more attention with tempo too, it makes to flow smoother.
