4. Recoloring Black & White:
REFLECTIVE WRITING:
From this module, I’ve learned a lot of new techniques since it’s the first time I’ve used Photoshop. At first, I struggled a bit with the layers and masks (I often messed up the layers and was confused about the masks), but after some practice and exercises, I got the hang of it. Overall, it’s been fun and new for me—I never knew we could recolor photos or experiment with so many effects in Photoshop.
Speaking of recoloring, Project 1B (Recoloring Black & White) is probably my favorite exercise. We get to play with colors, and it feels similar to makeup (so fun! I love choosing lipstick colors for the model).
My favorite tool is definitely the ‘Quick Selection Tool.’ It’s convenient and has helped me a lot during the exercises and practice (so much quicker and easier!).
In conclusion, I’ve learned a bunch of new skills, and it’s been a lot of fun! I can’t wait to explore more Photoshop tools in the future.

2. PROJECT 2: PHOTOSHOP EXERCISES (WEEK 7-10)
FINAL WORK:
WEEK 7:
1. Double Exposure:
REFLECTIVE WRITING:
This is probably the most challenging exercise for me. To create double exposure we need to use clipping mask and create mask layer. It is kind of confusing to me, I get confuse on the 'mask' layer. I spend a longer time to finish this task, but I am satisfied with my outcome. It look like a cute birthday photo compilation.
WEEK 7-10:
2. Poster Design
REFLECTIVE WRITING:
At first, my sketch was rejected twice, and it definitely affected my mood, not gonna lie. But thanks to those rejections, I ended up creating this final piece, which I absolutely love. It’s the first time I’ve combined Photoshop and Illustrator, and I really wanted to create a realistic surrealism poster. It might sound ironic since surrealism is the opposite of realism, but during the lecture, Mr. Fauzi said that making surrealism look realistic enough for people to believe—despite being impractical or impossible in our world—was the goal. This idea intrigued me, and I really enjoyed the process of creating this poster.
Finding materials and taking the pictures myself was quite challenging. I needed to find specific angles to ensure the perspective in my poster was accurate and would create a realistic look. When taking the pictures, I didn’t have a camera or tripod, so I had to set everything up by myself. I had to make sure the angle was right, and whether my whole body was in the frame, etc. But overall, it was fun! Thanks to Mr. Fauzi, I learned a lot of helpful techniques (such as using adjustment layers, the lasso tool, and double exposure etc), which made my workflow smoother and allowed me to work more freely.

3. PROJECT 4: SELF-TITLED (WEEK 10-14)
FINAL WORK:
WEEK 10-14:
POSTER SUBMISSION:
VIDEO SUBMISSION:
REFLECTIVE WRITING:
This project involves creating a poster that incorporates elements about myself. It's fun, and it gives me an opportunity to reflect on my life.
In addition to using Photoshop, we also get to use After Effects for this project. Although we had an exercise on After Effects, I still struggled a bit with it.
*Speed:
To synchronize with the music, I adjusted the speed and pace of the animation.
(For example, the music is bubbly and light, but the animation was initially too slow.)
*Movement:
To avoid elements colliding, I made sure the animation didn't become chaotic.
To avoid elements colliding, I made sure the animation didn't become chaotic.
Throughout this project, I've become more familiar with After Effects, and after several exercises in Photoshop, I'm getting more comfortable with it. Thanks to Mr. Fauzi, who provided numerous case studies and tutorial videos, I found these resources very helpful during the process.
